Value Added Ag Processing

Value-added agricultural processing currently plays a role in Saskatoon's manufacturing sector. Saskatoon's traditional strength in the production of certain commodities makes the region a logical location for many commodity-processing industries. Processing adds value to raw agricultural commodities, transforming them into products worth more in the world marketplace. The Saskatoon region's economic development strategies include capturing this added value from processing within our region's borders. Rather than ship its raw commodities elsewhere, our region is working to attract and support firms at new and higher levels along the commodity processing chain.
