Saskatoon outperformed all major cities in Canada for GDP growth in 2007, with an amazing 5.5% increase. The strengthening of the economy is due to higher commodity prices for grain, potash and oil, as well as a burgeoning housing market. Saskatoon has consistently been one of Canada’s top five growing economies this century.
