SREDA Announces New CEO
(Saskatoon, Canada): John Cross, Chair of the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority Inc. (SREDA) Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the selection of Tim LeClair as Chief Executive Officer.
“Tim brings an excellent background in Economic and Business Development, Financial Services, and Investment Due Diligence with Portfolio Oversight. He has vast experience in government relations including provincial regulatory and statutory drafting and amendment processes. We look forward to his contribution in the execution of our organization’s strategic plan,” said Cross.
Tim LeClair has served with Metis Settlements General Council as their CEO. Federally, he has served on the Canadian Labour Force Development Board and has acted as negotiator and facilitator on a number of tripartite negotiations. He has served on a number of corporate and provincial entities, including the recent Alberta Task Force on Housing and Homelessness, as well as having been a key member of the Alberta Water Council and the Clean Air Strategic Alliance.
“Tim’s thorough understanding of economic development, alongside his demonstrated experience in working with boards of directors is the right mix, at the right time, for SREDA and the quickly expanding Saskatoon economy,” said John Cross.
“SREDA’s Board of Directors has assembled a very good team, and we are looking forward to bringing a renewed energy and focus to Private Sector Investor Relations, and improving SREDA’s relationship with both municipal and provincial governments. We want SREDA to take a more active role in encouraging confidence and pride in the economic success of our region,” said Tim LeClair.
Saskatoon is home for me and my family and having lived here as well as other places we can confirm that ‘there’s no place like home’. I appreciate all that this city and province have to offer to prospective businesses, their employees and families. Saskatoon’s future is exciting and I am thrilled to work with business, education and government leaders on opportunities for economic growth and development,” said LeClair.
LeClair began his duties as CEO of SREDA effective Thursday, January 7, 2010. SREDA is dedicated to encouraging economic growth and development in the Saskatoon region by promoting existing businesses and encouraging growth of new business.
